The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America

Proud of Our Youth With a spirit of true American patriotism, Elizabeth Alexander and nine of her third grade classmates decided they would like to come up with a creative, positive way to contribute to the relief efforts. The children ran a lemonade stand which was bedecked with American Rags and sang patriotic songs on September 21 and 22, 2001. Passersby were so touched by the children’s patriotism that $5, $10, and $20 bills were often dropped in the collection basket. The group donated $524.00 to the American Red Cross through the Matthew Turner Elementary School in Benicia, California. On the right is Elizabeth Alexander.
