ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN American Hungarian Reformed Church Allen Park, Michigan Pastor: Varga Ferenc By the grace of God, the days He has given us, added up to another year. And we as the household of God in Allen Park are exceedingly grateful for His provisions and blessings. God Almighty, as in the past always, again revealed Himself to be faithful and good to us. Our prayer was that He would unite us in faith, hope, love, and dedicated service toward Him and one another. We can say that He truly touched our hearts and started us out in this new direction. It was also our hearts desire to experience peace among us, not as the world gives it, but as only the Prince of Peace can give to us. Again we can testify to the fact that we are moving in the right direction and daily are looking to our head to lead us. As for our daily life, our Sunday School has three classes, and one of them learns God’s Word in the Hungarian language. Our dedicated teachers are doing their best to bring the little ones to Jesus. Our children also attend the first part of the worship service in which they have a Children’s Message or object lesson. Both our English and the Hungarian choir has something very special every Sunday to minister with to the souls of the worshippers. In November we had our Advent Tea hosted by the women of the congregation. The purpose of this event was to awaken and focus the hearts of the participants on the true meaning of Advent and to prayerfully prepare all for the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our groups are working very faithfully and diligently. The Busy Bees had a good year. They held several Craft Shows and raffles, and make little lap robes for the Children’s Hospital as their mission project. The goals of our Dorcas Guild are to worship God, to be active in service and to have meaningful fellowship throughout the year. In this year they really lived up to those goals by organizing numerous luncheons, banquets and parties for the benefit of our community and the edification of our church. Focusing on some new projects, The Golden Circle had a very successful year. They were also celebrating their fifty-fourth (54) year 179
