Keleti Egyházmegye - Eastern Classis

the need arises! Rev. Gabor Egeresi, a student at Princeton Theological Seminary conducted worship services from the end of April until the end of June when he had to return to Hungary. Rev. Frantz, Rev. Gary Hope and Rev. Peter Loment, also a student at Princeton Seminary, continue to offer their services to conduct worship at our church. This has greatly benefited our members, as we receive the best from seasoned pastors with a variety of life experiences. Several inquiries from available pastors within our denomination have been received, but no workable solution has been reached. Rev. Imre Bertalan, Dean of the Eastern Classis, continues to assure that the needs of our church are being met. Activities within the church and community continue as usual. On March 4, our church hosted the Eastern Classis Annual Meeting. Our guests were more than happy with the warm hospitality they experienced at our church and the wonderful meal prepared by our ladies. Our ladies participated in World Day of Prayer services, Church Women United, and noodle making with its social aspects and lunches. Kolbász making is held prior to the holidays of Easter and Christmas, and a variety of special services, programs and luncheons are held throughout the year. Each week during the Advent season our members participated in the worship services with readings, candle lighting and singing of the old familiar hymns that are so much a part of our holiday preparation. Rev. Loment’s wife, Tünde, and twin daughters, Viola and Boroka, of Tiszaroff, Hungary joined us during the Christmas holidays as they visited the United States for the first time, a happy experience for all. We cannot know what the future holds for us, but as we find our numbers growing smaller, it becomes more and more important that we work together and support each other. If we are to preserve our heritage, we must take care of what we have. With faith in each other and in our God to provide for our needs we will go on! We thank ALL of our members for their help and support - no one can do it alone - it takes everyone working together to make a successful congregation. Hitbuzgó kis gyülekezeteink egyike. Alapítói nagy részben az egykor hírneves drótkötél gyárban dolgoztak. Helyben lakó lelkipásztora, Martin Leslie az év elején lemondott. A vasárnapi szolgálatokat váltakozva közelben lakó amerikai nyugdíjas lelkészek, valamint a Princetonban postgraduáns kutatásait folytató Loment Péter végzi. 164
