Keleti Egyházmegye - Eastern Classis

for local church pantries was started and will be an ongoing effort to aid the poor. Over twenty-thousand dollars for capital improvements was allocated to rebuild the parsonage front porch and steps, with more work forthcoming to finish the interior. Numerous improvements and repairs have maintained and improved the church’s buildings. The congregation’s buildings, in the form of a “U”, include the church, adjoining church school, attached church hall, and separate parsonage and garage. As the Assistant Editor of the Calvin Synod Herald/Reformatusok Lapja, the pastor toured with the Hungarian Reformed World Federation when it met throughout Hungary and Slovakia this past summer. He is currently the President of the Eastern District of the American Hungarian Reformed Ministers’ Association. Within Calvin Synod he serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of its Eastern Classis, chairman of the synod’s Archives Committee and its representative on the Board of Directors of the Bethlen Museum and Archives, and a member of its Bethlen Collection Advisory Committee. He has been involved in prolife activities at the local Crisis Pregnancy Center, Prolife Prayer Breakfast, and Pocono Chapter, which he helped organize. This is my tenth annual review as the church’s minister, and the loss of almost sixty members by death has drastically altered the life of the church. I do not know what the Lord has in store for the future, but I do know that we must continue to seek out better and even new ways, tmsting that He will open doors of opportunity and we must be spiritually prepared and fully committed to serve Him wisely and well. As the church faces its future it moves forth confident that the God who gathered its people will gather still until His work is done, and it heeds the word of God: “But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; keep yourselves in the love of God; wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” (Jude 20-21) Rev. Albert W. Kovács, Pastor 50
