Ez a szertartás több szempontból méltó a figyelemre. Először azért, mert ez már a 21. században történt. Eszerint a mai nemzedék az új századot azzal kezdi, amivel kezdték atyáik az elmúlt századot: magyar református végvárak építésével. Tehát: a diaspóra él. Él még atyáink szent hite! Másodszor fontos azért, mert a diaspórában megtörtént a nemzedék váltás. Ezt a szertartást, és a rá következő 20 millió dolláros költségvetéssel tervezett szeretetotthon és konferencia központ építését már a Bethlen Otthonnak első, Amerikában született igazgatója, ilj. Bertalan Imre irányítja kiváló munkatársai, a Református Egyesület, a Bethlen Otthon igazgató testületéi, az egyháztestek, a Lelkészegyesület, a Presbiteri Szövetség bevonásával és harmonikus együttműködésével. Említett szervezetek tudatosan vállalják a nagy felelősséget, hogy népünket, Ligonier nagy szerepvállalásával, átvezessék a századforduló küszöbén. A kapavágást a tervek szerint rá két évre követi majd a felszentelés örömünnepe. Legyen ez az egyetemes amerikai magyar szempontból is fontos esemény mindenek imádságának tárgya. Dr. Bertalan Imre From the Administrator of The Bethlen Home The Bethlen Home’s residents and staff send you warm greetings from Ligonier, PA. A year has past since I first became the Administrator here at the home. Time moved quickly as our efforts remain focused on the daily operations of our campus, the building project and the renewal of our commitment to the Hungarian community and its churches. Upon my arrival, individual meetings with department heads ensued to gain an understanding of their duties and responsibilities as well as how their departments functioned. Time and observation were also utilized in this process in coming to a conclusion that detailed attention must be given to the following departments: business office and dietary. Changes were made that necessitated the elimination of some positions and the creation of some new positions. Assignment of duties and responsibilities were adapted accordingly. As with any change, you initially experience successes and failures. At this point we continue to experience both but the desired goal is in sight. When goals are reached, it is the monitoring 7
