Az amerikai egyháztestekben - In other denominations

Bolla, who passed away in December, 1997. Deaths such as these always represent great changes to our congregation. Our pastor visits Hungary regularly and during his recent trip was privileged to join a group of Hungarian professionals on a trip to Cairo and the Nile Valley in Egypt. He was also invited to join a research project from The Cleveland Museum of Art which was in Egypt simultaneously at The Cairo Museum. An excursion to Mount Sinai, where Moses was given The Ten Commandments, and a visit to the Coptic Christian community founded by the Apostle Mark in Cairo were the highlights of this experience. The highlight of the year in our congregation was the baptism of triplets - two boys and one girl, bom to Renée and Dale Kovach, grandson of Eugene and Mary Szy, lifelong, loyal members and a founding family of our congregation. There were fifteen of us at the Baptismal Font in addition to the three babies. A momentous occasion in the history of our church! We are proud of the First Hungarian Lutheran Church - its congregation, its history and its contribution not only to the Hungarian community in Cleveland, but to the Hungarian community worldwide. We are Ecumenical in spirit and have always maintained the dignity and respect of Americans and Hungarians alike throughout the nation and the world. We greet all those who read this volume with the faith and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. “A Mighty Fortress is our God.” “Erős vár a mi Istenünk.” Rev.
