(Imagine this: it would take 100 Ligoniers to make one Pittsburgh!) - They only have the repu­tation of being a collection of rich “upper class” folks. True, there are a few. For the town, as a whole, are ordinary Americans, with a very notice­able difference, though. Friendly, considerate, helpful, respecting your privacy, and keeping the golden rule of decency, - with a smile. They know that these simple virtues are also a part of the Spirit of Ligonier. Just mention the Bethlen Flome and you will discover that there is hardly a household that did not have a relative, a friend, or a neighbor as a resident of ours at one time or another. One will never forget the passion­ate outpouring of love when we witnessed the helpfulness of volunteers, -31
