being conducted by Rev. Dr. Joseph Posta. We also had Memorial Services at the church cemetery, dedicating four headstones. In May, we recognized the ladies of the church on Mother’s Day. In June, the bell tower was repaired and a new roof was placed over the kitchen. Father’s Day was observed also. A new refrigerator for the kitchen has been purchased. In July, the Annual Hungarian Heritage Day was celebrated, which proved to be a success, though less so than the prior year. The beginning of Sunday School in September was marked by a Rally Day Sunday with only two students attending. Both of whom are studying for their confirmation in McKeesport with Rev. Borsay, due to the church being without a permanent pastor at that time. They will be confirmed in May, 1999. The Congregation always remembers the shut-ins who have supported the Church all of their lives, but who can no longer attend due to illness. Since December 1998, I am serving this Congregation, elected as a permanent supply pastor. At the same time I am serving the Johnstown and Springdale Congregations, which belong to the Calvin Synod UCC. This is a great challenge to me mentally, spiritually and physically. May God’s blessings rest forever upon every church member and friend who supports the church year after year. Without their help the goal in Christian ministry could not have been achieved at all.
