Nyugati Egyházmegye - Western Classis

However, the above information is only for statistical purposes and here is the rest of the story. Our church has opened its door to the neighborhood and community in which we are now located. Most of our new members have no relationship whatsoever with the Hungarian background that most of the older members have. They wanted to join our church not because we are Hungarians but rather because we are Christians. They looked around and they liked what they saw, so much so, that many of them made the commitment to become permanent members. To keep attracting new members and getting some old ones coming again, we have come up with several new and exciting programs for our members. The newest venture is the formation of two Hand Chime Choirs, one for the young and the other for the young at heart. The chimes were purchased as the result of a church-wide fund raiser in which a mile of pennies was collected (that is over 84,000 pennies). This past summer, we had our second Vacation Bible School and the children learned about the great Old Testament king - David. Our very successful Puppet Ministry continues to be a valuable part of our Sunday School program, which is now in its second year of a very ambitious project of going through the entire Bible with the children. Another important aspect of our church is our outreach to many different organizations in our community. We are one of eight churches Palm Sunday 1998 Early elementary class singing during service. 94
