palpable reticence among members over difficult issues born out of fear for offending a relative accompanied by resignation of leadership authority to a few. With all its foibles, the Fairport congregation is able to maintain a facade of peace and tranquillity and, by the grace of God, to get along with one another. There are but a few who value inter-church relationships in the Hungarian Reformed family, participate in the various annual meetings, and show interest for the continued spiritual growth of the congregation and Synod. Among these is Mr. Paul Szaniszlo, who recently suffered a brain aneurysm and is under long term care at a Nursing facility. We pray for his healing and recovery and ask for all your prayers as well. Our Women’s Fellowship is the only organized working group remaining, as usual, who host dinners and participate in every project. We have not had an active men’s group for quite some time, although the men also help out in the many church projects initiated by the Consistory. Our Sunday School teachers are also actively promoting projects for the benefit of the school and the church, and we appreciate their efforts very much. Thus, we have all the trappings of an active church that become meaningful and prosperous when employed with the love of Jesus Christ. Our weekly Bible Study group has dwindled this past year, the same people continue to study the Word of God with dedication and commitment. Our choir is also active from September to mid-May. The ladies and one gentleman enjoy praising the Lord with the song of their heart, soul and mind. Our Youth Fellowship follows the same pattern seen in other churches with its ebb and flow of new and old faces. We participate in various group activities, take trips to the zoo, Tower City in Cleveland, annual Youth Conference, Summer Youth Camp, and a hand around the church. With God’s help the Fairport congregation will continue to fulfill His will and purpose. Bishop Louis Medgyesi, Pastor 87
