1 sides our differences and different backgrounds, the same Spirit is working in our lives, which enables us to serve in the congregation. The congregation has two major organizations, the Calvin Adult Fellowship and the Lorántffy Zsuzsanna Women’s Guild. The Calvin Adult Fellowship meets once a month and has various activities, such as organizing dinners, a Chinese auction, rummage sale and picnics. The Lorantfiy Zsusanna Women’s Guild basically supports cultural events at our church and also dinners. Both organizations are working hard on our food fairs, which play an important role in the church’s finances. Although we do not have a youth group, the church supports the Hungarian Scouts, the Hungária folk dance group, and also the Életfa Hungarian Folk Band. The Hungária Dance group practices every Friday evening at our church and the music is provided by the Életfa Folk Band. We think it is very important to keep our Hungarian heritage alive and encourage the younger second generation Hungarians to be proud of their culture, which is very rich. Through music and dance, even if they do not speak the language, they can get the message of their identity. We have a very special relationship in Passaic with the Hungarian Roman Catholic Church. We are very close to each other, not only because we almost live next door to each other and perform mixed marriages, but because we depend on each other very much. Alone we are weak, but together we are strong. This is what we have learned not only in the midst of our congregations, but in the world too. We are very grateful for their support. We plan to continue family visitations and to raise the number of our church membership. By the grace of our Lord we hope to have a fruitful year in 1998. Rev. Marianna K.
