YOUNGSTOWN, OH Pastor: Ken Sausman Chief Elder: Joseph Takacs American Hungarian Reformed Church Youngstown, Ohio Under the guiding hand of the Lord, our church has received many blessings, beginning with eighteen members joining our church family. A unique pulpit and church service exchange was shared with the Hungarian UP Church in April and May, resulting in a gratifying spiritual and fellowship experience. Community and Missionary projects included food baskets and personal hygiene kits distributed to area families and agencies, along with goats purchased to provide milk for two families in Brazil. Our Christian Education includes the Junior Church and Adult Bible Study. The Junior Church is a self-supporting, vital and active branch of our Christian family, sponsoring five fundraisers and youth activities. A Vacation Bible School was jointly held with Hungarian UP Church. From this summer activity, Hungarian language lessons are continuing, upon the request of enthusiastic youth. Adult Bible Study has grown in attendance, as we increase our awareness and knowledge of the Lord. Ongoing fellowship activities include monthly Tea and Coffee Hour, Outdoor Volleyball, Departmental Organization Dinner, “100” Club Banquet, Church Picnic, Bacon Fry and Covered Casserole Luncheon. Organizational Annual Fundraisers sponsored by Fellowship Circle, “100” Club, Men of the Church and Sisters In Friendship include two Chicken Paprikas Dinners, Kolbász for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, ten monthly drawings for the “100” Club, Mothers and Fathers Day Dinners and the Chinese Auction. Through continual dedication, strong faith and hard work of a loving congregation numerous projects were completed: paving of the parking lot, Ladies and Men’s Restrooms completely remodeled, New Sound System and Alarm System installed in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, and the interior of the Sanctuary and Sunday School Building were freshly painted, with new flooring added to the Sanctuary and new window treatments in the Fellowship Hall and Sunday School. As we continue doing the work of the Lord, and follow the direction in which He is leading us, we will remain constant in our faith and look forward to serving Him. Rev. Ken Sausman, Pastor 168
