In mid-September thirty-three people joined Mr. John Bujdoso and his wife, Mary, on a fifteen-day trip to Europe. At the beginning of the trip, we spent a few days traveling in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. We saw some villages where ancient Reformed customs were observed by the people that lived in those small communities. They wore traditional Ref­ormation clothing; the community structure and architecture of their houses and churches resembled times past. Nancy, our Calvinist guide, told of the rich Reformed history of this country. We also learned of the constant battle fought by these people in order to control the water and the sea that was so much a part of their heritage. After a few days in Holland, we flew to Budapest and stayed in a lovely hotel overlooking the Danube river. With our new guide, Eliza­beth, we learned of the history of these two ancient cities and the gor­geous bridges that were illuminated in the evening. From Budapest we traveled to many interesting spots in Hungary. Our final destination was the ancient city of Debrecen where we saw the Great Church that domi­nates the city square. We attended church there on a Sunday morning and met with the pastor later as he explained the history of the church and the ministry it has had over the years. We all enjoyed the rich ancient culture of this great land and ate good food and drink as we traveled. Again our thanks to the Bujdosos’ for planning this trip. The New... Something new happened in Mien Park this summer. Five churches combined their efforts and held Daily Vacation Bible School at our church. After many weeks and months of planning and training we created a com­munity of tents and marketplaces that resembled first century Israel. We used Marketplace A.D. 29 curriculum that gave us a rich environment for children to interact with first century principles and customs. This evening Bible School began in tents that were assembled in our parking lots where the children learned Bible verses and stories. Then they were off to our 147
