celebration and book a success, Mrs. Susie Fortner for the decorations, to all who came, to all for the sacrifices and a work well done. Living up to our mandate, we also very conscientiously administered the sacraments during the year. Six infants and one adult were baptized into the community of the faith during the year. We also gathered around the table of our Lord, proclaiming His death, till He comes in eight English, in 5 Hungarian and in three combined communion services. Our congregation also displayed our care and commitment toward those who were in nursing homes, those who were shut in or in sick beds in 111 takeout holy communions. Our Pastor conscientiously visited our sick and shut-ins, also doing counseling before marriages and baptisms as well as in personal needs of 1,174 individuals. We started the year of 1997 with 490 communicant members. Eleven of our faithful members were reborn through death to their permanent eternal life. One of our members moved and transferred her membership to another church. We also joyfully gained eight new members. Thus we closed the year with 486 communicant members of The Hungarian Reformed Church of Lorain, Ohio. Our Pastor is serving as Director of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America (his second term). He is also serving as a member of the Executive Council of the United Church of Christ. We also had the honor and privilege of his being elected by the Executive Council as a representative of the United Church of Christ to the 23rd General Council of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, which event took place on August 8-20, 1997 in Debrecen, Hungary. He also was one of the Bible Study leaders of the General Council and enjoyed the loving companion of his loving wife, Barbara, who is his most valuable comrade of arms in the ministry. For all of these: SOLI DEO GLORIA! Zoltán Daniel Szucs, Pastor 100
