Kálvin Egyházkerület

Our pulpit was vacant for fifteen months. We were blessed to have the following members of the clergy conducting worship services during that time. Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Szabó, Rt. Rev. Dr. Tibor Dömötör, Rev. Frank Endrei, Rev. William Nyerges, Rev. Louis Medgyesi, Rev. Sándor Farkas, Rev. Sara Katocz, Rev. Eva Tamassi, Rev. Imre László, and Rev. Csaba Orosz. We were also honored to have Bishop Kálmán Csiha from Transylvania and Bishop Lajos Gulácsy from Ukraine deliver sermons and relate to us what the Reformed Church has provided to the needy. In both of these areas of the world, the Reformed Church has been instrumental in opening church affiliated schools, orphanages and old age homes. It was in the spring of 1997 that Edward (Ed) Szabó represented our congregation as church missionary to the Ukraine. Ed along with Rev. and Mrs. Stephen Szilagyi and Rev. and Mrs. Frank Endrei were part of a fifteen member group to participate in the mission effort called, “Project SARA” (Sharing Resources Abroad). “SARA” is sponsored by the United Church of Christ which underwrites the cost of thousands of dollars needed to send professional people: doctors, nurses, technicians, clergy and lay people along with needed supplies to the Ukraine. The new pastor, Rev. Steven Geczy and his family. Our Fall Harvest Festival Dancers (Szüreti Bál). 86
