HOMESTEAD, PA Pastor: Rev. Robert W. Kennedy Chief Elder: Earl V. Jones, Jr. Assistant Chief Elder: William F. Horosz The First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead Munhall, Pennsylvania The First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead is served by our part-time Minister, Rev. Robert W. Kennedy. The service is held every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Our average attendance is approximately 48 members. We have a few young children in Sunday School who are taught by Mrs. Nancy Kennedy, and the class is held during the church service. We had one confirmand, three burials and one baptism. The Chief Elder is Earl V. Jones, Jr. and the Assistant Chief Elder is William F. Horosz. Although we are a small and faithful congregation, we have many activities during the year. Every Sunday, after the service, we have a “coffee hour” which everyone enjoys and is a perfect time for Christian fellowship. The activities have been: baking nut rolls for the holidays, making hurka and kolbász, covered dish luncheons, Mother’s and Father’s Day luncheons with the men of the congregation preparing the luncheon for Mother’s Day, and the women of the congregation preparing the luncheon for Father’s Day. Each year we have a church picnic in the summer, hold a food festival and have a calendar party. All of these activities are well attended by our members. Our organizations are no longer in existence but, when any activities are scheduled, the members volunteer their time and talents. We are grateful for our excellent leadership in Earl Jones and Bill Horosz who are very energetic and efficient in keeping the congregation together and, they, with the Consistory, do their utmost in caring for the concerns of the church. Rev. Robert W. Kennedy, Pastor 75
