szobás lakásból áll. Azóta ezekben már harmincegyen laknak és szolgálatunknak ők is szerves részei lettek. A harmadik öt évben a levéltári anyag rendbetevése és elhelyezése adott extra gondot és követelt nagyobb anyagi áldozatot. A negyedik öt évben a volt Gyermekotthon kívánt több időt, gondoskodást, és anyagi áldozatot. A 18, többnyire idősebb lakó szinte mindennapos törődést igényel: hótakarítás, fűnyírás, csődugulás stb. Mindezek felett azonban a legfontosabb munkánk, a felsoroltak mellett, a 103 ágyas „nursing home” ellátása, beleértve a 115 munkásunk gondját.

Szeretetotthonunkban nagyon idős, nagyon beteg és szakápolásra szoruló magyar és amerikai lakókat gondozunk, a mai idők modern követelményeinek megfelelően, korszerűen.

A Bethlen Otthon életéről eddig mindig magyar nyelven számoltunk be. A legutóbbi Igazgatósági Gyűlésünk javaslata szerint most áttérünk az angol nyelvre is, hogy egyházaink 90%-ban angolnyelvű tagsága jobban tudja olvasni és megérteni beszámolónkat. Ennek a javaslatnak megfelelően, angol nyelven folytatom a mondanivalómat.

Yes, the acceptance of aging is not easy; for many elderly see it as a curse and not as a normal role in development. Paul Tournier’s words pick up the same idea beautifully, which I have quoted above, and realizes that the gift of life is measured for its value, not in years, but in relationship to God. This valued relationship is then carried throughout life.
