Dr. Vitéz Ferenc, püspök: A Kálvin Egyházkerület

_ Sao Paulo, Brazil to conduct the marriage ceremony for Albert Kiss and Vera Murányi. He used the occasion to preach at the Hungarian Reformed Church there. It was most uplifting to meet the Brazilian Hungarians. Our pastor, besides his regular work, for the third year is a student at Ashland Theological Seminary (the largest Protestant Seminary in Ohio) for his Doctor of Ministry degree. In December, 1994, God called home one of our most faithful and active members, the President of the Calvin Brotherhood, our English President, Ernest Maxim. We praise God for Ernie’s rich life and faithful service! We started the year 1995 with a renewed slate of officers. Chief-Elder: József Daróczy. English-President: Bert Toth. Treasurer: Joseph Bak. Secretary: Doris Toth. Building & Grounds: István Menyhárt. Social & Cultural Activities: Aladár Solymosi Sr. In addition, there are 22 elders serving on the Consistory. Hungarian organist & Choir director: Zsuzsa Susan Kálmán. English organist: Lillian Koos. The bi-lingual Sunday School is led by: Helga Nagy, Judit Szentkirályi, Zsuzsa Szélpál, Pál Csia, Andrea Tábor, Rózsahegyi and Kevin Meadows. Youth Group leader: Irene Heller. The Women’s Guild is led by Katherine Klaczik, the Calvin Brotherhood by Victor Mancini, the Bingo by Goldie Maxim, and the Calvin Center is lead by Helen Szarka Jr. Custodian: Károly Tóháti. The information given about 1992 continue to apply to us, so no need to repeat them here. One may observe though, that in spite of the faithful work of so many members, survival is becoming more of an issue, and our numbers are slowly decreasing. Without a new wave of immigrant — from which God forbid — this is not surprising. We are grateful to God that He is still using us as a blessing and a joy for each other. Soli Deo Gloria! 210
