Kennedy Robert The First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead has overcome the many adversities that faced the congregation over the last several years. We, members, have come through this period and are now a congregation with a great determination to keep our church alive, both spiritually and physically. We are being served weekly by Rev. Robert W. Kennedy. The average attendance at our Sunday service is 65 members. The holiday services average approximately 115. We had five (5) funerals and two (2) baptisms last year. In 1989 the Women of the Church hosted the Women’s Conference in May which was a great success. In August a combined church service and picnic was held with the Pittsburgh Congregation which was well attended. In October we held an outdoor service at the William Penn Association Penn Scenic View in Trent, Pa. This also was well attended by our members. The Women and Men of the church baked nut rolls for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas which helped our church financially. What a wonderful way to enjoy each other’s company in true Christian Fellowship. We are attempting to maintain our property to the best of our ability. We are in the process of having our steeple repaired 117
