HOMESTEAD Pastor: Daniel J. Borsay Chief Elder: William Horosz. On November 22, 1987 Reverend Daniel J. Borsay was elected the pastor of the church. Coming at a stormy time in the life of the church, Reverend Borsay faced numerous obstacles. Coming to grips with the past and moving ahead to the Kingdom of God was easy with a congregation full of so many good and kind people. Many people testify to the power of the Spirit through the fruit which they bear, that is, through their words and deeds. In Homestead, the past year was a fruitful one. One of the highlights of the year was a joined worship service and picnic with the Pittsburgh Hungarian Reformed Church pastored by Rev. Nicholas Novak. This was the first time that these two churches so close to one another geographically and in background came together for a joint activity. We hope the fine relationship between the two churches continues to grow. Bishop Zoltán Király visited our church on September 25, 1988 and duly installed Rev. Borsay as pastor. Financially, the church has done well. From November, 1987 to the end of November, 1988 our total working capital increased from $41,212.92 to $52,847.99. This is a gain of over ten thousand dollars. This gain occurred despite the fact that the value of shares purchased in the past for the church has de­creased. And this gain does not include Christmas and year-end donations, nor does it include income from the sale of baked goods for Christmas. This gain can only be attributed to the generosity of the members who gave not only of their money but 151
