were thus able to gain an insight into the Hungarian community as it exists in the area.

In July the decision was made to pay off the outstanding mortgage on the church and in August the mortgage was paid off on the Kossuth Hall. Plans are now under way for a mortgage burning and celebration.

During this year we have been able to get the Sunday School program revived as well as established a nursery during the regular Sunday worship service. This year also saw a revision of the Lórántffy Zsuzsánna Ladies Aid.

In August, after talking to 17 candidates and possible candidates for the position of Pastor, the pulpit committee recommended that the church extend a Call to Rev. Raymond F. Kaiser to serve as the 14th pastor of the church since its founding in 1902. Rev. Kaiser accepted the call and began his ministry on August 23 with the celebration of Holy Communion.

A complete program of renovation for the parsonage is currently under way. The building is being renovated both inside and out with siding, new windows, new lighting, modernized kitchen, garage expansion etc.

We are all truly thankful for the things that God has done for us in the past year and pray the we will be worthy of His goodness as we attempt to carry the message of Christ to the Dayton community.

Jelentésünk 1987 október végéig számol be egyházi életünkről. Statisztikailag, az év kezdetén 210 tagú egyházunk létszáma 197-re csökkent az eddigi 10 temetés és 7 elköltözés végett. 1 esketés és 2 keresztelés volt. Tagságba fogadtunk 4 konfirmándust, akik közt az egyik felnőtt volt.

Ha létszámban és erőben fogyatkozást éreztünk is, de a lelkesedés terén hála Istennek megmaradtunk mint a múltban. Érdekeltségeinket nem csak a templom négy fala közt tartjuk. Tavaszkor beleszegődtünk egy közös munkába a falu egyházaival és felekezeti csoportokkal az itt élő szegényebb gyermekek reggeliztetésében. Kb. 20—25 gyermek vesz részt minden iskolai napon a nekik ingyenes reggeliken. Négy hetente cseréljük a találkozó helyet öt templom között, melyek néhány utca közelségében vannak egymástól.
