136 BETHLEN NAPTÁR and their families, a house of prayer, meditation, sacrifice and service. May its memory be blessed among us. Our congregation intends to continue worship in the old sanctuary until late spring, 1986. By then, with the help and guidance of our Lord, we will be ready to make further decisions about the next steps toward our God-given goals. Our generation feels privileged and blessed by receiving the beautiful vision and great task of erecting a new house of worship to the glory of God. There was another reason why we decided to stay at the old site of the fathers. Our Church is nestling in the fork of two powerful rivers. Here the Youghighany pours its waters into the Monongahela and sends them off to meet the Allegheny River at the “Point” of Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle. The natural beauty of the riverfront must have attracted our forefathers when they chose the area as their permanent place of worship. A few years ago the City of McKeesport landscaped the riverfront and established a beautiful park along the Youghighany. It carries the legend, “Mr. Richard J. Gergely Riverfront Park — dedicated to the ever living and loving memory of a man of God and a man of the people of McKeesport.” Tradition and new ties also advised us to stay. Three members of God’s Gang featured in the national UCC News as kids well educated in the field of diakonia, and as such who practice what they learn. We are proud of them. Thanks to those who faithfully worked with our children and youth, Mrs. Elaine Shaw, Sunday School Superintendent and her staff and the leaders of the youth groups. To see a new generation growing up to shoulder responsible church leadership was another source of our joy. President Mr. Harvey J. Barnum, the officers and members of the Consistory were faithful servants in trying times of crucial decisions. The Women’s Guild is the extension of God’s providence in our Church. The sacrificial work of Women’s Guild President Mrs. Candy Ernst, her staff and ladies helped us to sail safely even in the shallow waters of the summer months. Our Guild hosted the annual Spring Women’s Conference with flying
