130 BETHLEN NAPTÁR Chaplain Eugene Szabó holding a memorial service honoring the 1956 freedom fighters. In May President Joseph Napoleon, Vice-President Frank Dudás and his wife Grace, Rev. Szabó and his wife Dolly attended the meeting of the Calvin Synod at Ligonier. They took with them a truckload of clothes which had been donated by members of the S. Norwalk Church to those living at the Bethlen Home. On Mother’s Day each woman in the church received a flower as a gift from the church and Br. 52 of the H.R.F.A. On May 19 William Rudenko, Glenn Lambert, Suzanne Rudenk Lee and Dolly Szabó were received as Adult Members. At the same service Robert Scire, Lisa Tingets, Mark Bedelf and Robert Kenez were accepted as members by the Rite of Confirmation. In August the Church paid for Peter Adamkovics, Christina DeVald, Jenny Lynn Erdo, Deborah Lynn Klein, Elizabeth Pall and Brooke Scire to attend the summer camp in PA. Rev. Szabó was the Master of ceremonies in June at the 15th Anniversary Banquet of Bessemer Center in Bridgeport. He and his wife, along with Ernest and Suzanne Virgulák also attended the Presbyter’s and Minister’s Conferenc in September at the Bethlen Home. Ernest Virgulák was elected the Vice-President of the Presbyter’s Association. On September 29 Rev. Szabó dedicated the following Sunday School Teachers and helpers: Robert Kish, Sharene Chiaia, Glorilynn Klein, Irene Lambert, Irmah Leczo, Ernest Kenez.
