Kálvin Egyházkerület

1985 115 The Rite of Confirmation was held on Sunday, June 3, 1984, with two young people being confirmed at the Hungarian Service. Our congregation sent six young people, all expenses paid, to the Youth Camp, jointly sponsored by the Calvin Synod and the Hungarian Reformed Church in America, from August 12 to 18, 1984. The Consistory and church organizations hosted a Retirement Tea for Rev. Zoltán Szabó on Sunday, August 19, 1984. Chief-Elder Joseph Napoleon attended the 38th Annual Presbyter’s Conference, held in Ligonier, PA., on September 2 and 3, 1984. Vice- President Ernest Virgulák attended the Bethlen Home Board of Directors Meeting on Wednesday, September 5, 1984, as a representative of the Calvin Synod. The months of August and September were busy times for many ladies of the church who sold raffle tickets at local supermarkets, in preparation for our annual fund-raising Dinner-Dance held on Saturday, September 29, 1984. The first prize was a one-week trip to Hawaii for two! The annual Grape Festival Dinner-Dance, sponsored by the Brotherhood, was held on Saturday, October 27, 1984. Since this summary spans the months of January to October, the following activities can only be listed: Turkey Bingo: November 3, 1984; Harvest Fair: November 30, 1984; E.M.C. Dinner: November 18, 1984. The Pulpit Committee of the Consistory has actively been seeking a new pastor for our congregation. We pray that the search will soon be concluded and that our members could look forward to a “new beginning” in Christian love and fellowship. Túrmezei Erzsébet: Változás Én, durva, faragatlan kódarab, ki ott hevertem annyi év alatt sötéten, félrevetve, hid próbákat dacosan nevetve, próbákat, hogy rajtam faragjanak; én, aki meg akartam én maradni Inkább osúnyán, sötéten, búsan, torsán: most Itt vagyok a Mester műhelyében, s boldogan várom ssent vésóvonását, hogy megalkossa bennem képe mását.
