Bethlen Naptár, 1984 (Ligonier)
Kálvin Egyházkerület
1984 99 LIGONIER, PA Neither the Bethlen Almanac, nor other reports I have read mention the fact, that in Ligonier, in conjunction with the Bethlen Home, we also have a little congregation. Surely it is not under the formal administration of any one particular denomination. All the more so someone, somewhere should put their existence on record. The Rev. Paul Kovács, who is also a constituent member of our Synod, is conducting the worship services, including Holy Communion, seven times a year. Rev. Bela Olah, a retired minister, on a long-term visit from Hungary, takes his place when he is out of town on Bethlen Home Sundays. Their ministry provides pastoral care and spiritual counseling in the Home virtually around the clock. In January and February there were no less than 18 funeral services from among their residents. Social events and fellowship hours complete their annual calendar. All our congregations in the Pittsburgh area, but especially McKeesport, Duquesne and Pittsburgh lend a helping hand in thees activities. — Last September a Hungarian Folk Art exhibition, — arranged by Dr. Eva Fabian, Mrs. Eva Olah and Mrs. Jolayne Novak, resulted not only in popularity but also in a donation of $400.00 to the Home.
