84 BETHLEN NAPTÁR Nt. Kovács Zoltán 12 esztendőn át szolgálta ezt a régi gyülekezetét hűséggel, szorgalommal. Február 1-én, elfogadta a Flint-i Magyar Református Egyház meghívását, itteni állásáról lemondott. A március közepétől megüresedett szószékben Dr. Borsay László egyetemi tanár, felszentelt lelkipásztor szolgált az esztendő végéig. A hétközben szükségessé váló lelkészi tennivalókat Novák Miklós látja el addig, amíg a gyülekezet új lelkipásztort választ. Mind a kijelölt szószéki bizottság, mind pedig a presbitérium szorgalmasan, lelkesedéssel munkálkodik Tóth János főgondnok vezetésével. A nyár folyamán teljes egészében újjáépítették a parókia belsejét. A munkálatok és a beépített tartozékok költségei 16,400 dollárt tettek ki. A gyülekezet életének többi részletéről jövő esztendei naptárunkban közlünk majd összefoglaló jelentést. JOHNSTOWN—WINDBER-VINTONDALE, PA. Pastor: Rev. Joseph Benedek Chief Elders: Mr. Coleman Nagyvathy, Johnstown Mr. Zoltán Antal, Vintondale Mrs. Pearl Stanish, Windber With all glory and praise to our Lord, we give thanks to Him for another year of harmony and love in our three Churches. Worship Services were held every Sunday morning at 10:30 A.M. in Johnstown, and, every first and third Sunday in Windber and the second and fourth Sunday in Vintondale. In Johnstown we held a ‘Lay Sunday Worship Service’ in the month of September. Our Sunday School is small but the children are very enthusiastic in their attendance. Communion was administered in all three of our Churches seven times during the year and, also, taken to our sick and elderly, that could not attend the Worship Services. The Pastor visited the sick in the various hospitals, and in their homes, also. We, in Johnstown, at our Congregationol meeting were fortunate to add three new Elders to our Consistory, and all three are from the younger generation, and so far they have been very dedicated in their work, together with the others. Some of the special events of the year were: The Ladies Christmas party; Open house at the parsonage; and the very special one was our O'-S'-tmas Fvo Candelieht Worship Service in which our Sunday School children participated. It was a wonderfully inspiring Service. We also hosted the Central Classis Fall Meeting, held November 2nd, 1980, and had as guest speaker, the Reverend Jackson Parsons. The Ladies of our Church served a chicken paprikás dinner. Our Johnstown Church had a very special event in this year of 1981. We celebrated the 80th Anniversary of our Church building, and in 1982,
