MRS. SUZANNA SZUCH 1885 - 1979

Mrs. Suzanna Szuch died on October 20th at the Bethlen Nursing Home, Ligonier, Pa. at the advanced age of 94. Suzanna Kish was born on September 22, 1885 in Szikszó, Hungary. Her funeral service was held on October 22nd in the Bethlen Chapel, Ligonier, Pa. She is a member of the HRFA since 1916 and was a dedicated pillar of the Lorantffy Women’s Guild of the Leechburg Church.

She was married to the late Joseph Szuch, a steel worker and a long time chief-elder of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Leechburg, Pa. They had three sons, one born in Hungary and two in the United States. They were raised in true Calvinistic tradition and spirit. William is one of the vice-presidents of the HRFA. He is also a member of the Building Committee of the Bethlen Home. He was the liaison man between the Committee and the architect. He deserves recognition and credit for constructively participating in the planning of the three major building projects of the Bethlen Home.

During the last seven years of her life she was a resident of the Bethlen Home where she received tender loving care. Her sons with their family members visited her weekly showing their affection and devotion to the mother and grandmother whom they had loved so dearly for many years.

Following the funeral service her body was taken to the Leechburg Evergreen Cemetery and was placed to rest next to her husband. The family members, relatives and friends bid their last earthly farewell to the dear Hungarian mother and grandmother. Rev. Paul Kovács, a friend of the family, the administrator of the Bethlen Home officiated at both services. The family asked the relatives and friends not to give flowers but to donate toward the Building Fund of the Bethlen Home. The amount of her Memorial Fund on November 20th was $1,935.00. May her memory be blessed and her children comforted.
