BETHLEN ALMANAC 171 4. The Calvin Chapter of Presbyterian Men was organized early in the year. The Chapter is associated with the National Council, who Synod officials presented us with a Charter at a dinner in April. 5. The name of the church was changed to The CALVIN Presbyterian Church. The name “Calvin” has a definite connection with our religious heritage and as such it was a happy solution to a pressing problem. 6. Last fall we again held the traditional grape festival. It was a joyful occasion for reminiscing and sharing. A group of children and teenagers numbering well over sixty, danced the Hungarian dance in several of its variations. The group was taught and directed by Mrs. John Doby, who was assisted by Mrs. John Tobias and Mr. Michael New Sr. Next year — 1960 — will mark the 45th anniversary of the church. At present, since we need more Sunday school facilities, the congregation is studying various building programs. CRESCENT-MARTINS FERRY, Ohio — Pastor: Dr. Arthur L. Varady In the 55th Jubilee year of our church we tried to continue to work in a way that would be pleasing to our Lord. Our Ladies Aid Society was a great help in achieving this. In matters spiritual and material most of our people travelled the road of devotion and sacrifice and were desirous to live in accordance with the will of God and thus do their part in building of God’s Kingdom. We have taken care of all our obligations, — so God may be glorified. In this we intend to continue. SHARON, Pa. — Pastor: Rev. William B. Furgess Confirmation Class with our Pastor, Rev. William Furgess. Do you know that sixteen towns and stations in the United States, as well as a post office in the Canadian province of Ontario, bear the name of Kossuth? The state of Iowa has a Kossuth County, also a village of Koszta. There is a place called Deák, Delaware, in honor of the “Sage of Hungary”, and a Transsylvania in the state of South Carolina.
