52 BETHLEN ALMANAC HUNGARIAN INSTITUTE AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY At Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, the American Hungarian Institute has been organized. The Institute will continue the Elmhurst College program of Hungarian studies which came to an end in June, 1959. In September, eleven Rutgers students enrolled in the program of Hungarian studies offered among the regular language courses Mr. Van Wyck Brooks (right), literary critic and scholar presents to Prof. A. Courses in Hungarian literature and history will be introduced in the following years. Mr. George K. Haydu of Plainfield, New Jersey, has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Hungarian Institute. Mr. Haydu is president of Haydu Industries, Inc. The Institute’s officers include as president, Prof. August J. Molnár of Rutgers University; vice-presidents: Stevan Dohanos, Westport, Conn.; Stephen M. Bessemer, Bridgeport, Conn.; Alexander Ince, New York, N. Y.; treasurer, Albert B. Mark, New York, N. Y. The aims of the American Hungarian Institute at Rutgers
