Bethlen Naptár, 1958 (Ligonier)

Highlights in Hungarian Life…

BETHLEN NAPTÁR 231 Because of our expansion it has been necessary to increase the number of staff members. If the reception of new members continues at the present rate we shall be forced to add personnel. Thus far all the work has only been done through the use of overtime, led with energetic efforts by our Treasurer, Imre Király and our Controller, László Eszenyi. Finally let us return again to our “Bethlen Almanac.” It was begun as the humble “Orphanage Almanac” by the late Dr. Alexander Kalassay and later, as the present publication, was developed by the late Dr. Louis Nanassy and the Very Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy and is approaching its maturity. In the past few years it has developed to the extent that it is no longer concerned with the immediate items of importance in American Hungarian life but has been reporting the activities of our brethren all over the world. It has a future of such great magnitude, and also such a responsibility, that it serves the ultimate spiritual and religious interests of our Reformed life here. By filling the ranks of our Federation’s membership, by supporting our Bethlen Home to an ever greater degree, by uniting all our efforts, we will be able to undertake assignments that few had dreamed of in the past. We must ever set greater goals before ourselves, for the poet states that “By using greater means to achieve greater goals one grows.” We, Hungarian Reformed Christians of America, want to grow, for we have the means and the strength. We continually pray for God’s help. ADVISORY MEMBERS OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL Dr. Ferenc Horváth Chief Medical Examiner I. H. Zeitlin Accountant
