National Youth Conference of the Magyar Synod

A Magyar Egyházkerület Országos Ifjúsági Kongerenciája Tagjai, 1954, Elmhurst, III. For the Sunday morning worship service, the Magyar Synod Youth Fellowship Conference invited the two Elmhurst Evangelical and Reformed congregations to be guests. President James E. Wagner of the Church spoke to an audience of more than 300 persons. On their way to Soldiers Field for the Festival of Faith, all the delegates went on a tour to benevolent institutions and churches of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. They visited Bensenville Home for Children and Aged, Uhlich Home for Children and the well-known, magnificient St. Paul’s Church in Chicago. The small group approach was followed at the conference. After each speaker’s address, the 125 young people went to their respective min-con groups, small groups of ten, for discussion. There they analyzed and talked about the significance of the speakers message. Workshops were organized on the basis of teaching each person something he would be able to take home and use in his youth group. August J. Molnár. Az elmhursti kollégium magyar diákjai.
