218 BETHLEN NAPTÁR Higher Education In Elmhurst College Elmhurst College of the Evangelical and Reformed Church is an 83 year old institution of higher learning. Its 15 buildings, laboratories and dormitories are located in one of the most beautiful suburbs of Chicago. The campus covers 34 acres of arching elm trees and spacious lawns. For twelve years Elmhurst College in its beautiful suburban Chicago setting has maintained a Department of Hungarian. This is the only Department of Hungarian in the United States. Its particular pride is the outstanding Hungarian library collection which was made possible by gifts from private collections and from other institutions. The establishment of a fund for the building of Hungarian rooms for the library is being planned. The aim of this project is to give expression to the rich culture and heritage of Hungary through books and museum items. The continued development of the library collection is assured as numerous professors, doctors, ministers and others wish to deposit their President of Elmhurst College greets students of Hungarian descent: 1. to r.
