Bethlen Naptár, 1952 (Ligonier)
To our second generation. Superindent's annual report of the activities and life in the Bethlen Home
192 BETHLEN NAPTÁR The Bethlen Home was host to more than 600 guests who came for the occasion from 18 states of the Union and from 76 different communities, representing numerous churches and organizations. The guests celebrated with us giving thanks for past accomplishments and looking forward to the building of a new Magyar future on the “Mt. Moriah” of Ligonier. All trades, all professions were represented here on Labor Day by our guests who arrived by train, buses, private cars and airplane. The enthusiasm and generosity of our guests who celebrated with us as well as of those who could not be present, was genuine and heartfelt since $12,378.67 had been contributed toward the new building fund through the month of September. Among the donors could be found those who shared their many blessings by contributing $350.00 each toward the furnishing of a new room in the new building. Their names will be engraved on metal plates on the doors of their particular rooms. There were those who shared their fewer blessings by contributing less though just as willingly and enthusiastically. These people will receive certificates acknowledging their generosity. There were donors, counterparts of the Biblical Widow, who had less of the wordly goods to share with us, but who willingly and happily did their part. Their goodness was acknowledged through letters of thanks. We are continuing our building fund campaign throughout the year of 1952 also. We shall continue to solicit your kindness and your generosity since our enlarged family needs more and since we wish to follow adequately our charitable program. With the extension of our work, God has again entrusted us with more responsibility: that of bearing the burdens of more people, of wiping away more tears, caring for more homeless. We do not know, but trusting in God we hope that we can meet the greater responsibilities entrusted to us, if we can count on the goodwill and generosity of those who celebrated the dedication of these new buildings with us and also on those who have been sharing their blessings with us in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Our hope, our trust is always in God! Through Him we hope for the future, hope in those who have laid the foundations of our institution and hope in the new generation for continued progress. We know our dreams will come true. May God bless our Federation, our Bethlen Home with its big family, our congregations, their pastors as well as our friends; and may He return to them all the love, spiritual and financial help which they shared with those who were in need. Joseph Kecskemethy, Superintendent.
