To our second generation
BETHLEN NAPTÁR 61 IN THE CARPENTER SHOP awaken at 7:30 o’clock. On Sundays they all go to church at 10 o’clock. After Sunday dinner, we have Sunday School. Children who are to be confirmed, are given religions instructions by the superintendent. Children attend the local movies on Saturday nights. So pass our days, weeks and months with our children. Our aim is to give them a home in which they will absorb the Christian way of living. Life in ihe Old Folks Home Under the supervision of the superintendent, the overseer of the old people and his wife, take charge of the old folks both on the hill as well as at the farm house. Here, too, one hears hymns rising to Heaven in praise of God in the morning or evening. Here, too, Christian fellowship and charity abide. In the summer we find the old folks sitting on benches under the shade trees; in the winter they spend their hours indoors, where they enjoy the warmth of their rooms as well as the cheerfulness of their social hall. What do they talk about, think about? Fleeting time, swift moving years, the past, or perhaps the future. There are a number of guests who have been bedridden for longer periods. Many guests visit their friends back and forth bringing them cheer and happiness. Those who are stronger physically, help in the kitchen, on the farm, in the garden, in the carpenter shop. Many times they do commendable work and they themselves are proud of their accomplishments. Those who can do a few chores now and then find much more happiness in their waning years than those who must sit idle. Work for the physically stronger men and women is a life necessity.
