Farming 183 acres of land for wheat, oats, barley, corn, hay, pasture, vege­table gardens and orchard. On June 30, 1944 there were 12 milking cows, 1 bull, 3 calves, 5 heifers, 38 pigs, 44 sheep and lambs, 200 chicken, 750 spring chicken, 2 goslings and 2 horses. Coal Mine The Home does not pay for coal. It is taken from our mine. In former years a considerable amount of coal had been sold to customers. Now, on account of lack of miners the coal is dug for the use of the Home only. Lime Mine It was idle during 1943 and 1944 on account of lack of sufficient farmworkers.
