8 oldal BÉRMUNKÁS 1933 december 23. ELVINYILATKOZAT A munkásosztály és a munkáltató osztály között semmi közösség nincsen. Nem lehet béke mindaddig, amig éhség és nélkülözés található » dolgozó emberek milliói között, s az élet összes javait ama kevesek bírják, akikből a munkáltató oszály áll. E két osztály között küzdelemnek kell folynia mindaddig, mig a világ munkásai, mint osztály szervezkednek, birtokukba veszik a földel, a termelő eszközöket és megszüntetik a bérrendszert. Úgy találjuk, hogy az iparok igazgatásának mind kevesebb és kevesebb kezekbeni összpontosulása a szakszervezeteket (trade unions) képtelenné teszi arra, hogy a munkáltató osztály egyre növekvő hatalmával felvegyék a küzdelmet. A szakszervezetek olyan állapotot ápolnak, mely lehetővé teszi, hogy a munkások egyik csoportját az ugyanazon iparban dolgozó, másik csoport ellen uszítsák s ezáltal elősegitik, hogy bérharcok esetén egymást verik le. A szakszervezetek segítenek a munkáltató osztálynak a munkásokba beoltani ama tévhitet, hogy a munkáltatókkal közös érdekeik vannak. E szomorou állapotokat megváltoztatni és a munkásosztály érdekeit megóvni csakis olyképp felépitet szervezettel lehet, melynek minden az egy iparban — vagy ha kell valamennyi iparban — dolgozó tagjai beszüntessék a munkát, bármikor, ha sztrájk vagy kizárás van annak valamelyik osztályában, igy az eggyen esett sérelmet az összesség sérelmének tekinti. E maradi jelszó helyett: “Tisztességes napibért tisztességes napi munkáért.” ezt a forradalmi jelszót Írjuk a zászlónkra: “Le bérrendszerrel 1” A munkásosztály, történelmi hivatása, hogy megszüntesse a bérrendszert. A termelő hadsereget nemcsak a tőkésekkel való mindennapi harcra kell szervezni, hanem arra is, hogy folytassa a termelést akkor, amikor a bérrendszer már elpusztult. Az ipari szervezkedéssel az uj társadalom szerkezetét építjük a régi társadalom keretein belül. In an obscure comer of a daily newspaper a write-up appeared which was tragically true. Two men, friends of long standing, had been out of work for too long, much too long. One, John, the father of nine children; another, Tom, father of two children. They trekked patiently, wearily; days unnumbered, countless hours; seeking employment. The Yuletide Season was approaching; toys and wearing apparel were attrictively displayed. Each father, in his daily search for work, would halt before windows and gaze at the wonderful things poor men, such as he, had made at small cost to capitalists, but for which exhorbitant prices were asked in order that the capitalists’ already filled coffers may be filled to the point of overflowing. Each father would see in the window that for which a little óné at home was awaiting, with a heartbreaking show of patiece, to appear in his Christmas stocking. John had, in a moment of weakness, borrowed $5.00 from his friend. While Tom was hard-up, he still felt that for a friend he might be able to spare that sum. However, he did want to do all he could for his children, and so, he asked John tc urn that which was rightfully his. John meant someday to return that money he borrowed, but when Tom came to the back door of his small ramshackle house, his best friend, John, in a frenzied moment shot him down. Realizing what he had done wnen he was nib pal slowly sinking to the ground and seeing the pure, white snow stained with that friend’s blood — he shot himself. That, my friends, is only one of the tragedies of mankind, due, as you, see, to the greediness of capitalists. A. Zs. John Feczko, Jr., pioneer Editor of the JWC for three years, has bidden the Junior readers of this column “Au Revior!” for reasons as ex- lained by him. I’m sure everyone wishes him succes and hopes to see him back in as short a time as possible and if he is not too taken up with new activities to hear from him frequently. In the meantime, I have been asked to officiate in the capacity of Junior Editor and, with the help of former contributors to the column, and I hope many new ones, will endeavor to carry on the column as heretofore. Just think, fellow Juniors! Wouldn’t it be thrilling and to the interest of each one of us to know what falls to each others lot? The young men and women in the cities have no idea, they cannot imagine the life of a boy or girl struggling for a livelihood on a farm or life as lived by miners in the bowels of the Earth; or, vice versa; the farmers or miners cannot conceive the manner in which city bred people are existing today — so, won’t you all write; exchange ideas, express opinions regarding mutual interests, and, in general, take an interest in YOUR cbLUMN?
