Február 19. BÉRMUNKÁS 7-ik oldal. JUNIOR COLUMN JUNIOR WOBBLY ACTIVITIES Cleveland, Ohio. The Juniors of Cleveland cer­tainly awoke with a start. We have just about ended up with a party wich the J. W. U. of Cle­veland held at Fellow Juniors Arthur Ruthoffer and Louis Hor­vath’s residence January 31, and the Juniors are thinking about our next party. I am very happy to say that our party was a great success (it was not meant for profit.) The Juniors there were twelve members present, all enjoyed themselves although we did have a few patients; — however, we didn’t intend to turn our party into a hospital, no need for trying to either, for the exciting games and lively music set them on their feet forgetting their illness. The refreshments were served late in the night. — Now it is most natural for the young ladies of today to be on a diet but no one was on a diet I this night. The party ended way past our bed time but I am sure Í the Juniors didn’t miss their dreams much — even though they were half there. The Juniors who had head­aches, tootaches, colds „or any other similar alibis for not atten­ding the party certainly missed something —everything in fact, but their pains and troubles. Junior Ch. Leiz.------------o-----------­Chicago, 111. HELLO FELLOW JUNIORS! You haven't read much from Chicago in the Junior’s Column of the Bérmunkás, but in the fu­ture you will hear more from us. I want to tell you about the en­tertainment given by the J. W. U. in Chicago on Saturday Jan. 24. 1931. It was a great success. [There were quite a number of people present. We had two full hours of entertainment consisting of solos, duets, songs by all the Juniors, two plays, and a tableau scene in honor of Joe Hill. We owe a large part of our succes to the tireless coaching and patience of our instructor Fellow Worker Horsley. After the entertainment we had refreshments and danc­ing. Let me add that every Sun­day afternoon at two thirty, — Fellow Worker Horsley conducts a school. We learn some very in­teresting things. We would like to have boys and girls who live in Chicago join us. Irene Zara. A REPLY The Jr. Ed. has received a letter from a person who says that a certain person in Ohio does not believe the articles in the Junior Column are written by Juniors. For his information, all the articles are written by the Juniors, except the stories by Daniel Horsley wich connected month ago. An argument was put up that no child could be raised respect­fully and have intelligence unless it was sent to church and thaught in school where the bible in the chief subject. Most of the Jr. Wobblies do not go to church but their articles to the column speak volumes. More than two million children work in industry from whose wonderful bodies profit is ground out and who receive in return one dime or two dimes an hour. We also have under this grand glorious system, graft,crime, cor­ruption, bootlegging, prostitution, unemployment, want, waste, war, race hatred, extreme poverty on one side and extreme' wealth on the other. These evils will not be abolished by any amounth of religious teaching because the profit system creates these con­ditions. ^Ve must face facts. There are two classes in society and the workers must organize as a class to abolish the profit sys­tem, capitalism. Then we will receive the full product of our toil and man will not exploit his fellow man. Truly then we will have fulfilled the teachings of the Nazarene. The brotherhood of man will be a reality. There j will be, “Peace on Earth, Good | Will to Men.’’ Religious teach I ings will not brings this about. [ The tyrannical class in power must be overthrown by the work- j ingclass and the workers must be j prepared through education in j Marxian economics, sociology, j labor history, etc. to accomplish j this. You cannot obtain these j science including industrial union lism, in the church or bible school. The Jrs. learn these es­sential studies in the Jr. Wobbly school and through the IWW press etc. Therefore the Junior Wobs are on the right road. J. The Jr’s in Chicago are lucky to have such, an instruc- | tor as Fellow Worker Horsley, j who is also helping us with his j stories in the Bérmunkás. From the tone of Fellow Leiz letter the jrs at the party had a i fine time. Your Jr. Ed. regrets j that he could not be there too, to enjoy it. MAGYAR ORSZÁGI HÍREK A* Örültek vagy gazemberek . . . Egy idő óta apró vörös cédu­lákkal árasztották el itt az egész | országot. Akármerre is fordult az I ember, házak falán, cégtáblákon, j a járdán, nyilvános illemhelye­; ken, ott láthatta a falra ragaszt­. • í va. Mindegyik féle szövegnek a , mottója ez volt, hogy az ország j éhező, nincstelen proletárjai in­dulj ana kel az egész országból gyalog és mezítlábasán Budapest felé, ahol is a munkanélküliek | százezrei fogják fogadni a falu J proletárjait. Azt hiszem, már az olvasó sej- j ti ,hogy kik azok, akik ilyen ope- í rettszerüen "harcolnak" a jelen- ! légi rendszer urai ellen. De ha valaki nem tudná, úgy ideirom, hogy a rendezők a kommunista párt vezérei a cselekvő vagy ha ! úgy tetszik a szenvedő alanyai a j kétkezü munkások lettek volna. Egy teljes hónapon át folyt a ! legteljesebb gőzzel az agitáció. Amig azok, akik félrenevelésük- j i nél fogva komolyan dolgoztak a ; tüntetés előkészítésén a siker ér- ! dekében, nézzük, mit csinált a , főmuftijuk? Ahogy a parancs ki lett adva, | a fővezér Róna Ferenc olajgyári | főtisztviselő itt hagyott csapot- papot és mivel a proletár párt­vezér még sem vehet el feleségül egy proletár nőt, ennyire már nem forradalmár, leutazott Tisza­füredre, ahol elvette egy tisza­füredi dúsgazdag füszerkereskedő leányát, Bán Magdát. Az esküvő után, amint ez egy kommunista pártvezérnek kijár, standapé ifjú hitvesével nászúira mentek Lila- I füredre, ahol is a Bethlen kor- j egyik legpazarabb fényű lakosz- I mány által épített Luxus Hotel tályát bérelte ki. Róna Ferenc pártvezér ur ebből a fényes kör- j zetből “szervezte” tovább a me- zitlában felvonulást. Azonban ami ga vezér mézes­hetei alatt élt-halt a nincstelenek­ért, de inkább jól élt, mint halt a rendőrség besúgói is alapos munkát végeztek. Ugyanis itt kell tudni azt, hogy a kommunis­ta mozgalomban résztvevők 70- 80 százaléka a besúgó, 10—^15 százaléka vezér és 5—10 száza­léka csak az igazi proletár. Még embrióban volt az egész akció, amikor máris tudott a rendőrség mindent. Amikor Róna Ferenc és neje megunva a Luxus Hotel i "éhezését”, elhatározták, hogy eljönnek Pestre szemlét tartani, j vájjon amig ők mézesheteiket él- j ték, az éhező prolik elvégezték-e ; When Dániel Horsley’s stories ! began we asked the Jrs to get a scrap book and cut out the sto­ries from the Bérmunkás. A miskolci pálya­udvaron ugyanis Róna urat a de­tektívek udvarias formák között lefülelték. De ugyanakkor már azt lehetett mondani, a legtöbb munkatársa is bent ült. A másik mufti már kisebb ka­liberű. Kaszás Géza alias Bella Sándor, akinek miközben *a pro­letárokért és a kommunista párt­eszmékért dobogott a szive, volt gyomra ahhoz, hogy az egyik legfehérebb miskolci fajvédő fas- cista lapba irva, dicshimnuszokat zengjen a jelenlegi uralomról. így lehetne az egész vezérkar fotográfiáját hűen leközölni. De hagyjuk. Az tény, hogy megfeszitett erővel a közkatonák azon voltak, hogy az éhségfel­vonulás sikerüljön. Az éhségfelvonulásból pedig nem lett semmi. Nem pedig — azért, mert az éhező proletárok az egész akciót nem vették ko­molyan, mint ahogy magát a kommunista bohócokat sem ve­szik komolyan már. — Leszámit- va néhány tucat vezéri szereplési viszketegségbe és nagyzási má­niába esett rajongót, a nagy tö­megre semmi befolyásuk nincs. Ezt igazolja azt a tény, hogy a proletárok néhány pofont le­akasztottak azoknak, akiknek a markába az Angyalföldön Buda­pest gyárvárosában röpiratokat nyom'tak. Az olvasó könnyen eldönthet- te, hogy azok, akik igy vezérlik a burzsoá szokásait majmolva, az állítólagos proletár forradalom előkészitését — őrültek-e vagy gazemberek? Cs. R. 2.
