a second Faculty of Electronic Engineering building (V2) was built to plans by Pál Kisdi and Dénes Perczel. In 1971 an experimental nuclear reactorwas installed (Ar nowTR) based on plans by Kálmán Tóth and István Diós. In 1963, the Presiden­tial Council established the Technical University of Győr, for the express reason of relocating the Faculty of Transportation and Construction Industry University (ÉKME0) to this location. Flowever, preparations were delayed in achieving this, resulting in inspectors passing a legislation to combine the two (Budapest and Győr) universities. Accordingly, this resulted in the nations largest university, Faculty of Transportation and Construction Industry University was renamed the Budapest University of Technology with six faculties [Civil, Mechanical, Archi­tectural, Chemical, Electrical and Transport Engineering). In 1970 the Baja Tech­nical Colleges Faculty of Water Management was appended to the Budapest University of Technology. Flere six full-time and correspondence courses ran for a duration of 8 semesters. Less than a decade later this connection was detached and annexed to the Pollack Mihály Technical College in Pécs. Construction of the Laboratory building (EL) by Elemér Nagy was completed in 1976, The Vásárhelyi Pál Flails of Residence by Béla Nagy and the (J) Building by Attila Kosa in 1979. Also commenced in 1976, was the (Z) Building designed by Elemér Nagy, completed in 1986. In 1987, a new faculty of Natural and Social Sciences was established, this split into two parts in 1998: creating the Facul­ties of Economics and Social Sciences, and that of Natural Sciences. From then onwards the university has eight faculties. Due to these changes the university was renamed the Budapest University of Technology and Economics on the 1 st of January 2000. In partnership with ELTE (Eötvös Loránd University) the uni­versity extended south of the Petőfi Bridge on land designated for the cancelled 1996 EXPO site. In 1998 the first Information Technology building was completed (designed by József Finta and Antal Fekete), to date the last building completed was building Q (2007-2010, designed by Antal Lázárand István Kaszás).
