HAUSZMANN Alajos élete és munkássága - The Life and CEuvre of Alajos HAUSZMANN Kalmár Miklós - Kiss Zsuzsanna Emília

A most spectacular building in the town of Kolozsvár (today: Cluj Napoca, Romania) is the Medicolegal and Physiological Institute (1884-—1889) of the university built after designs by Hauszmann, who was also the architect of the clinics of the same institution. In 1885 he designed a building for the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the university HAUSZMANN ORSZÁGHÁZ PÁLYÁZATA, 1882 HAUSZMANN'S DESIGN FOR THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT. 1882 in Budapest besides the university's botanical gardens (today: Üllői Street No. 93). Hauszmann's hospital (1890-1894) in Nyitra (today: Nitra, Slovakia) with a capacity of 1400 patients is a nother significant milestone in his hospital architecture. The building housing the Technological Industrial Museum and School (today: Óbuda University, Donét Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering) has been remodelled: because of the changes in its environment, it appears somewhat more modest than originally. The town hall and the theatre (1877) of Szombathely are buildings designed by Hauszmann that have been demolished. The scale of his projects in this town is expressively illustrated by the County Hall he had remodelled. The facade of this imposing two-storey stucture with a central projection has been a major attraction of the town ever since. Hauszmann also made the designs for the cavalry barracks (1883) of Szombathely.
