-27­Technical University Of Budapest The International M.B.A. Programme /M 0 Vff In cooperation with He riot-Watt Business School,, Edinburgh, U.K. The Technical University of Budapest The Technical University of Budapest was founded in 1782 and has since developed into the largest institution of higher education in Hungary and one of the most important research centres in Central Europe, with over 10,000 studentsand 2,000 academic and research staff. The University has close links with many universities in Europe and overseas, operating exchange programmes and cooperating in joint research projects. The Technical University can claim to be the most comprehensive provider of management studies in Hungary. Study of management issues within engineering is. a compulsory element of coursestudy,and specialisations in subjectssuch as Industrial Engineering and Organisational Engineering have been offered for the past 20 years. Since 1956 the Technical University has offered a postgraduate masters degree course in Economic Engineering, as well as other specialised postgraduate courses and short courses in management subjects for experienced engineers. TheUniversityalso offers short courses for the continuing education of engineers according to the needs of industry. These are organised by the University's Institute for Continuing Education.
