II. GRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION EDUCATION OF GRADUATED ENGINEERS Graduate studies last five years, comprising 10 terms of a 16-week study period and a 5-week examination period each. Engineering studies have two main parts. The first part of four termsas a rule provides natural science fundamentals of engineering knowledge. Acquired knowledge is subject to examinations. During the second part of six terms, engineering knowledge indispensable for highlevel creation is imparted. Studies are concluded by the elaboration and defence of dissertations and by state examinations to obtain the degree of graduated engineers. The comparison of curricula and requirements at universities abroad with those at this University showed the degree granted at the Technical University Budapest to correspond to the Master of Science /M.Sc./ and Dipl.-Ing. degrees. At all faculties, Hungárián is the working language. Foreign citizens may alsó attend lectures in English in several specializations. Foreign citizens may start their studies in either of the following ways : 1./ Foreign students in command of Hungárián may directly attend lessons in Hungárián; 2./ foreign students not in command of Hungárián - may either jóin education in Hungárián after one year of Hungárián language studies and - if needed - fundamental
