Summary

One of the source-book's biggest values is that it gives a lot of details about the market towns specific status under the Turkish rule. It can show that on the base of the rights were achieved in the Middle Ages and on the developed practise there was a highly developed public administration and corporate life. It meant a great help for the peasant communities to survive the Hungarian and the Turkish State's assets, the services for the landlords and the play the tyrant over them by the regular armies. The series of data make it clear how consistently the Hungarian landlords insisted on their manorial rights and wanted to enforce it on the territory under enemy rule, as well. The formation of the prairie town autonomy helps the orientation in the wide range of data and we can also lean on the apparatus which helps us how to use the sources.
