RUDOLF GERHARDT-STEVAN MACKOVIC-ZOLNA MATIJEVIC REVIEW OF JUDICIAL FONDS OF THE HISTORICAL ARCHIVES OF SZABADKA The competence of Historical Archives in Szabadka includes the territory of Szabadka, Topolya and Kis-Hegyes townships (namely the territory of Szabadka district which was wound up in 1965). The archivists of the institution have shown the documents of jurisdiction's organs, cared and protected by them, from the council of Szent Mária market-town (belonging to the period of feudalism) and Szabadka free royal town, and from the town's and its villain village's (Csantavér, Bajmok és Sándor) manorial courts to courts of the XX. century. The almost complete material of Town Law-court of Szabadka's archives from 1861 to 1871 contains documents of extrajudicial, legal and criminal proceedings, wills, verbal and summary proceedings. We can find documents of civil and criminal actions, land registers, bequests and bankruptcy proceedings among the more than 200 running metres material of Royal Lawcourt of Szabadka from 1872 to 1944. Documents of general, presidential and civil actions and bankruptcy proceedings are being preserved beside documents of bequests in the archives of district-court of Szabadka. Documents of public prosecutor offices in Szabadka can be found from 1919. Notaries' documents of Topolya were got into the archives from the period between 1895 and 1944 (this office was functioning from 1874). 34 judicial fonds, in the extent of 576.33 running metres, can be found in the Historical Archives of Szabadka, namely, 12.7 percent of all the documents that are being preserved in the archives.
