Influences

The way of life and crafts of the people ‘The Hungarians of Kalotaszeg (Tara Cálatei) couldn't normally make a good living off their land, but they do earn quite decently. They sell goods, they do all sorts of crafts and they will go and get hired throughout the country. Not as agricultural labourers but as masons, joiners, stonecutters or bricklayers. At least fifty percent of the male population is involved in some other trade than agriculture. However, they will seek employment as farm hands only extremely rarely!K0S 1932:173 Bl Potmaker, 1948-1950 photo by Dr. Károly Kós Kriza János Néprajzi Társaság archives KJNT 00087 28
