‘Vigand (Toroczkai. ed.) had been commissioned to carry out a task he couldn't possibly do single-handed: designing a residential house in Kolozsvár/Cluj (and overseeing the construction and manage the finances) for City Clerk János Folyovits. During our cooperation I became convinced that Vigand may be an outstanding artist in the applied arts, but he has no knowledge to speak of when it comes to architecture proper and he is unfit to resolve a larger project, be it but a simple residential building. ... Kós and Toroczkai worked together in the spring and summer of 1910 on the designs for the Villa of János Folyovits in Kolozsvár/Cluj, which was built in that same year in the suburb of the town where municipal officials lived. The Manor of Béla Fekete Nagy, Deputy Mayor of Kolozsvár/Cluj was also designed by Kós. The picturesque design shows the influence of Toroczkai, although the project was never realised.
