The remembrance deals with the international connections of the Academy of law in the 1930s in detail. The chapter about the internal life of the Academy entitled "The flowering of the Academy of Law in Miskolc" gives full details of the former dean's efforts to set up a wellqualified teaching stuff. There were hard conditions of the employment: on the Academy of Law in Miskolc only teachers were allowed to educate. Győző Bruckner's dean's inaugural from 1922 published in full length was the summing up of his teacher's creed, a programme that he respected during his long office time till 1945. The remembrance goes into details also about his efforts for the scientific re­searches of the Academy. It can be pointed out unambiguously that the scientific ac­tivity of the staff was on an international level. The Academy began with the journal entitled "Legal life in Miskolc", which was the first scientific journal of the region. The only workshop dealing with Luthe­ran canon law functioned in the framework of this college. The longer studies were published in the series "The Library of the Legal Life in Miskolc" and "The Portrait Gallery of the Legal Life in Miskolc." The Collection of the Scientific Studies" of the Academy of Law was started with the support of the town, in its frameworks 46 sudies were published. It was an important effort to publish the law students' seminar studies. The part about the teachers' scientific activity proves the assumption that the law education in Miskolc reached the international level. The teachers took part in the work of the national forums on the professional public life, the summary of their activity also proves: those working with education there were the best of their scien­tific area. Győző Bruckner was the correspondent member of the Hungarian Aca­demy of Sciences, he had international achivements on the fields of Hungarian town law and Lutheran canon law. Ervin Hacker's works on criminology and gaolsciences are well - known even today, his seminar methodology was famons in Hungary. Béla Zsedényi's activity on comman law was acknowledged, it may have had an impartant role in the election of him as the temporary head of state. Károly Schneller, professor of statistics and economics was a recognised authority on demography. Tivadar Unger Surányi as teacher of economics had great international success, he became professor at the university of Göttingen. Zoltán Sztehlo was the first Hungarian scientist who dealt with legal papyrology besides Roman Law. Vilmos Szontagh's thorough ecomonical and financial legal knowledge was proved with his employment on the faculty in Debrecen. The seven professors thought it was important to get into the public life of the town. The chapter entitled "The Academy of Law in Miskolc servicing the Church" proves that the college thought important the objective scientific point of view besides the equality of the dominition before law. The teachers of the Academy often published about canon law, ecclesiastical policy and church history. The chapter entitled "The scientific and practical importance of the seminar activity on the Academy" is interesting from a methodological point of view. From
