Péter Bán: The revolutionary bodies of town Pécs and County Baranya The author analyses the composition and activities of the leading institutions, bodies of the revolution of Baranya county and town Pécs. The members of the National Council for the Working Class of Baranya County were those who were elected from the delegates of Workers' council of factories, plants, companies of Pécs. Besides them, representatives of the MEFESZ of the university of Pécs played a determining role, too. Leaders of the workers' council of the county pursued a moderate policy, they prevented radical workers and young people from occupying the building of the State Security Authority {AVH}. University students attacked the leadership of the national council which was weak in their view as well as its cooperation with exleaders of Rákosi-régime, thus, they claimed new elections of soviets at county level. In the course of the establishment of the workers' council of the county it sent control commissions for the supervision of administrative institutions and those of power both at county and at town level.
