Gábor Török: From the Organs to the Production of Coffins: A Contribution to the History of the Angster Organ and Harmonium Factory

In the course of its existence of 83 years the Organ and Harmonium Factory József Angster and Son produced, repaired and voiced almost 400 Protestant organs and a number of organs in the churches and schools of other denominations. The surviving archival material such as drafts, contracts, correspondence and the like furnish precious sources of the research in industrial, local, and family history. Next to these, some personally interesting sources are treated as well which depict the given micro environment and modulate the picture of the activity of the factory.

Im Laufe ihrer Existenz von 83 Jahren hat die Orgel- und Harmoniumfabrik Angster & Söhne fast 400 protestantische Kirchenorgeln sowie etliche Harmonien hergestellt, repariert und eingestimmt. Das erhaltene Archivmaterial, Skizzen, Verträge, Briefwechsel sind wertvolle Quellen der Forschung von der Industrie-, Ort- und Familiengeschichte. Zur Schilderung der zeitgenössischen Lage der gegebenen Mikroklima werden desweiteren persönlich bedingte Quellen dargestellt.
