Piroska Simon P.: Calvinist Reformed Ministers and Teachers in Somogy County in the 16—18th Centuries

Proceedings of visitations written in the 18th century furnish significant data facilitating the understanding of the religious circumstances, the position of churches and congregations as well as the mentality of the faithful in the ecclesiastic administrative territories, such as the diocese of Inner Somogy. Based on secondary sources, the register of visitations of Bishop Jakab Torkos in 1747 as well as the conscription of 1774 the present study gives a litde insight into the level of education, circumstances and conditions of the ministers and teachers of the Calvinist Reformed diocese of Inner Somogy. The study was written with the aim of inspiring research into the topic.

Die im 18. Jahrhundert geschriebenen Visitationsprotokollen liefern wichtige Angaben über die kirchlichen Verhältnisse der zeitgenössischen reformierten Diözese Inner- Somogy sowie zur Deutung der Lage der Kirchen und Kirchengemeinden und der Mentalität der Gläubigen. Diese Studie gibt den Lesern aufgrund der Visitationsprotokolle von Bischof Jakab Torkos im Jahre 1747 sowie einer Konskription vom Jahre 1774 einen Einblick in das Niveau der Schulung, der Umstände und die Lebensverhältnisse der Pastoren und Lehrer in der Diözese Inner-Somogy. Die Studie war als eine Anregung gemeint.
