The problem of where to store the ever­growing collection of wrought-iron objects was solved by transferring many items to Nagytétény Mansion (in southwest Buda­pest), which also became part of the Muse­um of Applied Arts in 1949, or by placing them in temporary rented storage outside the city; such frequent moves resulted in many identification labels being lost. Now and then a stroke of luck may help us to identify the occasional object that has been recorded in the inventory as a “ware­house item of unknown origin”.
